10 Days Uganda Primate Safari

Day1:
Kampala.

Arrival On arrival, you will be met by our company representative and your driver guide for a transfer to a hotel in Kampala for safari briefing and overnight.

Day 2:
Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park

After a relaxed breakfast, you will depart with your driver guide to Kibale National park via the “Mountains of the Moon” for lunch. Fort Portal is famous for its tea plantation and beautiful country side. You will arrive at Kibale for a relaxing evening and overnight

Day 3:
Kibale Forest Chimpanzee tracking and Bird watching

You will have the orning tracking the Chimpanzee among other primates found at Kibale. Kibale Forest is highly regarded for having the greatest array and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. You will have a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. After lunch you will transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. Later check in at your overnight lodge for the night.

Day 4:
Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through the Crater Lakes. On arrival, you will have lunch before going on an afternoon game drive in search of wildlife, including warthogs, buffaloes, waterbucks and elephants.

Day 5:
Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will have a morning game drive in search of Uganda Kobs, lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals until lunch time. In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise with drinks and canapés along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. There is abundance of birdlife to be seen. Elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores are also to be seen. This cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari.

Day 6:
Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi National Park
After breakfast you will head to Ishasha which is famous for the tree climbing lions. After a short game drive in this area we continue to Bwindi. While driving through a verdant countryside, you will pass traditional homesteads and enjoy panoramic views. In the afternoon arrival in Bwindi National Park, home of the endangered mountain gorillas where you will have lunch and later a relaxing afternoon. You can opt for a nature walk or a visit to a community village.

Day 7:
Gorilla Tracking

Gorilla tracking is usually the highlight of safari for all those who visit Uganda. Meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi in a beautiful ecosystem of the park is a thrilling experience for all hikers and trackers. The walk is tough through dense forest with steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead. The trouble is however a definite and worthwhile as you get observe the gorillas closely while they eat, play and rest. It’s a unique and unforgettable experience!

Day 8:
Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will depart the Impenetrable forest of Bwindi and head to Lake Mburo National Park. After check in, you will go on a boat ride on the lake to view the rich bird life and many hippos that are cooling off. You will have an early dinner before going on a night game drive in an open Land Cruiser with spot light. This special game drive of 2-3 hours gives you a chance of seeing the elusive leopard and other nocturnal animals.

Day 9:
Lake Mburo National Park – Kampala

You will have an early mrnig nature walk with an armed ranger before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Lake Mburo is the one of the national park where you can experience a safari on foot. After breakfast, you will have an en route game drive on your way out as you head to back to Kampala. You will arrive in late afternoon where you can choose to have a city tour or a shopping tour or just relax at the hotel.

Day 10:
Having toured Uganda and created memories, you will be transferred to the airport in good time for your flight back home.
